Heartsaver CPR is the American Heart Association's CPR and AED course for lay rescuers. In a short, hands-on class, you'll learn how to recognize a cardiac emergency, call for help, give high-quality CPR, and use an AED — skills that can double or triple a person's chance of surviving cardiac arrest.
Parents, grandparents, babysitters, teachers, coaches, fitness professionals, workplace responders, and anyone who needs a CPR certification for work or simply wants to be ready to help. No prior training is required.
Recognizing cardiac arrest: checking for responsiveness and breathing, and activating emergency response
High-quality CPR: chest compressions and breaths, with child and infant CPR
AED use: how to safely and quickly use an automated external defibrillator
Choking relief: helping a choking adult, child, or infant
Instructor-led and hands-on. Most of the class is spent practicing on manikins so you leave confident in your skills.
Upon successful completion, you'll receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED eCard, valid for 2 years.
