Heartsaver CPR/First Aid is the American Heart Association's combined CPR, AED, and first aid course for lay rescuers. You'll gain the skills and confidence to act in the first critical minutes of an emergency — at work, at home, or out in your community — until professional help arrives.
Teachers, coaches, childcare providers, camp staff, personal trainers, construction and industrial workers, parents, and anyone who needs a CPR and first aid certification for work or wants to be prepared. No prior training is required.
CPR and AED: recognizing cardiac arrest, giving high-quality chest compressions and breaths, and using an AED
Choking relief: helping someone who is choking
First aid basics: scene safety, calling for help, and protecting yourself
Medical emergencies: breathing problems, allergic reactions and epinephrine auto-injectors, heart attack, stroke, fainting, diabetes and low blood sugar, and seizures
Injury emergencies: severe bleeding and tourniquets, wounds, burns, head, neck, and spine injuries, and broken bones and sprains
Environmental emergencies: heat and cold emergencies, bites and stings, and poisoning
Instructor-led and hands-on, with plenty of time practicing CPR on manikins and working through realistic first aid scenarios.
Upon successful completion, you'll receive an American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED First Aid eCard, valid for 2 years.
